(San Bernardino County, CA) The official campaign in Support of San Bernardino County Measures D & EE announced the first set of major endorsements from two dozen key elected officials.
The initial list includes Members of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, the current elected Sheriff, and District Attorney, as well as Mayors, City Councilmembers, and elected Water Board Directors.
Voters in San Bernardino County in the upcoming November 8 General Election will be asked to vote on two key initiatives.
Measure EE is being referred to as the “Fairness for All Initiative” asks voters the following question: “Do the people of San Bernardino County want San Bernardino County elected representatives to study and advocate for all options to obtain the County’s fair share of state funding, up to and including secession from the State of California?”
Measure D is the “TAXPAYER PROTECTION AND GOVERNMENT REFORM Act.” If approved by voters it will prohibit the elected Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County from increasing taxes without a vote of the people, prevent elected County Supervisors from voting to increase their salary, and facilitate effective representation in county government. It also would prevent any elected Supervisor from serving more than three consecutive, four-year terms.
According to the 2022 US Census, the County of San Bernardino has 2,163,000 residents. It is the largest county by area in California and the largest in the entire United States excluding boroughs in Alaska.
Campaign officials also point out that San Bernardino County is slightly larger than the states of New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island combined, and is also slightly larger than Switzerland. It borders both Nevada and Arizona.
